Combating Illegal Immigration at the National Level TheMain Pillars of a Policy to Address It in Libya

Abstract

This research examines how Libya combats illegal immigration
through legislative and security measures. It focuses on the legal
framework, particularly Law No. 19 of 2010, which criminalizes
illegal immigration and establishes deterrent penalties. The study
also highlights the role of specialized security agencies and
Libya’s cooperation with Maghreb countries and the European
Union. Finally, it emphasizes the need to strengthen laws, improve
enforcement, enhance border security, and reinforce national and
international cooperation to effectively reduce illegal immigration.
